An Overview of Core Tools

1. APQP

  Advanced Product Quality Planning
APQP is a structured method to develop a system to assure that product meets customer requirements. This workshop follows the APQP reference manual to demonstrate how to develop a product quality plan.

2. FMEA

  Failure Mode Effects Analysis
A systematic approach to recognize and analyze potential process failures based on detailed process steps, functions, and outcomes. The FMEA reference manual is used to guide this study.

3. PPAP

  Production Parts Approval Process
Many automotive customers require production part approval (PPAP) prior to entering full production. This workshop walks the participants through the process using the PPAP manual.

4. SPC

  Statistical Process Control
Training will orient participants to the SPC basics as described in the automotive manual. Discussions and exercises involving X-Bar R charting, various attribute charting and the basics of chart interpretations are involved in this seminar.

5. MSA

  Measurement System Analysis
Gage R&R studies, gage selection and the basics of measurement systems are covered in this seminar based on the automotive manual.

6. Problem Solving

Discussions and exercises of problem solving tools (i.e. brainstorming, 5 whys, scatter diagram, Pareto, fishbone charting, etc.) are part of this seminar, as well as a recommended reporting structure for documenting this process.
