Activity-Based Quoting
Activity-Based Quoting (ABQ) is a tool designed to accurately determine the
cost of satisfying your customer. Different products have different costs
depending on the number and complexity of the activities and processes required
to market, sell, engineer, quote, control, produce and deliver them. With MMTC’s
ABQ model, costs are determined for each operation within your process, from the
cost of preparing a quotation, the cost of getting materials into your process,
through the cost of manufacturing the part, to the cost of shipping the order.
These process cost rates are built into an Excel spreadsheet for easy use to
reconcile the costs and profitability any current products, or quote any future
products.
